To begin a Nulytely or Tri-Lyte prep, you will need to discontinue taking aspirin, ibuprofen, Coumadin, Plavix, Celebrex or any other blood thinner, iron medications or multivitamins with iron 5-7 days beforehand. Before you stop taking your prescribed medication, please check with your doctor first.
Three days before the procedure, please stop eating raw vegetables, any food with seeds, popcorn, nuts and stop taking fiber supplements.
The day before the procedure, you will be on a clear liquid diet, and you will need four Dulcolax tablets and Nulytely or Tri-lyte from the pharmacy. Mix the prescription with warm water in the morning and put in the refrigerator to chill. At 5:00 p.m., take two Dulcolax tablets, and at 6:00 p.m., begin drinking 8 oz. of the solution every 15 minutes.
