Bravo pH Test (Wireless Esophageal pH Device)

Bravo wireless esophageal pH testing is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) by measuring the acidity levels in the esophagus. During the test, a small, capsule-sized pH sensor is temporarily attached to the lining of the esophagus, typically during an endoscopy. This sensor is designed to monitor and record acid levels over a period of 48 to 96 hours as the patient goes about their normal daily activities. Unlike traditional pH monitoring, which involves a wired probe, the Bravo system is wireless, allowing for greater comfort and freedom of movement. The data collected by the sensor is transmitted to a small external receiver worn by the patient. After the monitoring period, the capsule naturally falls off and is passed out of the body, and the recorded data is analyzed to determine the frequency and severity of acid reflux episodes, helping guide appropriate treatment for GERD.
